You guys know that from time to time I organise and coordinate bloggy events on behalf of brands and PRs. Last Wednesday was my first one for 2012. And it was all shades of delightful!

Mainly because the venue was in The Wine Room. The. Wine. Room.

That up there is Flying Fish’s wine cellar. And it’s like six freaking metre wall of wine. 750 bottles of red wine suspended onto a rich gold coloured Thai silk wall covering. Could you imagine having one of those walls at home? Me want one!

So anyway, I invited a few mum bloggers to the event. Because I am all about sharing the bloggy event love. I wish I could invite everyone. But there’s this little thing called budget that I have to be mindful of. Buggers.

The event is the exclusive launch of Nature’s Own brand-spanking-new-super-yummy,-you-won’t-believe-it’s-fish-oil-can-totally-make-a-mango-daiquiri-out-of-it product. Or Omega Delight for short.

Seriously, no fish taste! I especially love the mango/peach flavour. My Mr10 loves it too. He keeps it in the fridge and glugs glugs about 1 tsp of it first thing in the morning. Nice.

What does fish oil do anyway? Well according to Miss Milena, the dietitian who was there on the day.

Our bodies do not produce Omega-3 fatty acids. But, oily fish like salmon and mackerel are mega-loaded with them. These fatty acids are good for us. They make our hearts, brain and joints in tip top condition. Ask Dr Google if you don’t believe me.

Melina said we should be eating fish at least 3 times a week. And no, fish and chips don’t really count. Well maybe it does. I’m confused now.

I gotta tell you though. Our family love fish and we love eating them. But sometimes, I am too lazy to cook ‘em. So, being a super responsible mother and all, I give my kidlets vitamin supplements including le-fish oil. I hate hate the fishy aftertaste though. You know, when you burp and you can totally smell it. Yuck.

Omega Delight does not have that yucky fishy aftertaste. WIN!

The Second Boy turned 10 last week. Hitting double digits age is a huge thing. And befitting a double digit age is a grown up bike.

Wearing pink sunnies is totally hardcore, yos!

Mind you though, he doesn’t know how to ride a bike. But he’s one determined boy. And I’m proud to report that as of 2 days ago, he’s mastered it! Without my full-on assistance! A proud mama moment indeed.

So anyway, just a bit of a backstory. I got invited to this Sony Ericsson event a few weeks ago. A big ass limo and copious amounts of alcohol were involved. Behold some photographic evidence:

Seriously though. I love this phone. Not as much as my iPhone though. I need to say that in the interest of keeping my integrity. Ahem.

Happy 1st birthday MummyTime

My blog is officially a year old today!

HIP HIP HOOOOOOOORAY!

Who would have thought that I would actually last this long? If you know me in real life, my attention span…not one of my best qualities.

Who would have thought that my starlet blog would be chosen as a “Blog of Note”? To think that right around that time I was almost ready to throw in the blogging towel. Attention span issues, remember?

Who would have thought that I would have 700+ followers? My husband says that probably half of those are google bots. Hmph. I say whatever husband of mine. But just so you know, your sexy time privileges are suspended until further notice.

Who would have thought that this stay-at-home-mother of 4 kids would would be flying business class to Shanghai today.

Yep, no typo there. Today, at exactly 9.25am Teh MummyTime is jetsetting to China to attend the 2010 World Expo generously sponsored by the good people of Coca-Cola. Yeehah!!!

Some days I can’t help but pinch myself. Can this be really happening to me? Me, who only started blogging simply because Twitter was not cutting it for me. 140 characters…not enough for the garrulous talker in me. All of these wonderful things coming my way are just so f*cking unreal. I feel like a kid in a giant lolly land. (Except the lollies are non-fattening and the guys serving the lollies all look like “21 Jump Street” Johnny Depp. Hubbadah hubbadah.) And, I am loving every minute of it.

BUT.

I owe it all to you my dearest bloggy friends, readers, subscribers, followers and lovely lurkers. I wouldn’t be where I am today without your continued support and loyalty to my shit stuff. I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my mama heart. You guys complete me. Sorry to go all Jerry Maguire on you. But I have always wanted to use that line. My husband laughs at me everytime I say that to him. Bastard.

A new car…….

well, for 4 days that is. But still.

We took home this baby and test drove it for 4 days. Wahooooooo!

Thanks Nuffnang and of course the guys over at Honda.

The verdict: These two little people kept using the words AWESOME and COOL.

I think it may have to do with the push-button sunroof. Heheh.

And my husband (who by the way was the one who actually drove the car because you know, I can’t drive) being the Eternal Apple Fanboy that he is simply said. “It’s like a MAC, you simply turn it on and everything works out perfectly. You don’t need to customise it like the PC to make it kick-ass.”

And I’m all like….”huh??????”

So anyway, here’s my opinion. And I will *try* not to sound like some sleaze-bag used car salesperson. Because we all hate those types.

First, I love that it’s a seven-seater car yet doesn’t give you the feeling that you are driving a daggy, ginormous minivan. Not that there’s anything wrong with driving a minivan. Please don’t hate me minivan-driving friends of mine. I’m just a girl who likes pretty shiny things. Mkay?

Second, this car is a Smooth As Ride. It’s super comfy inside. Even Grumpy Teenager said “it’s really roomy.” And the luxurious leather seats, for the win!

Third and the most important, safety safety safety. This car does not skimp on the airbags. At all. Front, side and full-length curtain airbags, baby. The more airbags, the better, yes? And ooh, VSA or Vehicle Stability Assist (for when you understeer/oversteer) if you wanna go all technical on me is standard. Gotta love that.

On a more serious note, we actually had a car accident a few years ago. Yes, it freaked the hell out me. My kids were with us and this guy ran a red light WHILST talking on his mobile phone. Yeah, I know. Lucky, it was just a minor one and no one was hurt. Our car was actually written off after the accident. So when it was time for us to purchase a new one, the car’s safety features were pretty much what sealed the deal for us.

We are planning to upgrade our family car in 2 year’s time. And the Odyssey is now on my list.

Hopefully by that time I already have my license. Hopefully.
