What I am…

I wanted to post something profound-ish for my maiden post in 2012. I tried going all philosophical and shit but I am way too sleep deprived to string together a Zen post.

So I thought I’ll share with you this Youtube clip of Will.i.am and the Sesame Street gang instead. Because who doesn’t love Elmo???

One question though. Doesn’t Will look a bit stoned? No? Really? Well it’s just me and my sleepy brain cells then. Henjoy!

The Girlies on a Friday Night

My girls. They are growing up so fast. It scares me sometimes. I think I am doing an okay job. Yeah, I think I do.

So, I’m like a Supermodel now. Bwahahahaha.

The Awesome MummyK and her little cutiepie went to my place the other day. And we had a photoshoot!!! I’m like a supermodel. D’ya want mah autograph?

Here’s the vid! Enjoy. It’s kinda uplifting. Kinda.

In other news. I was filling out a survey the other day and this question came up. I just had to share it with you all. Had to.

Care to guess which one was my reply?

Walking is good for your soul. For reals.

I don’t drive. At all. Yes, the inhumanity of it all. But, I am cool with it. Most of the time.

I love walking. I get to spend time with myself. How totally selfish does that sound? I blame freaking Mother Guilt.

This morning. I went for a walk. To Officeworks. Yeah, my life is all kinds of rockstardom. Whatever. I still got to walk. By myself. With myself. Priceless stuff.

The walk to and from was 15-20 minutes tops. It felt good. Feeling the wintery cold on my face. Clearing my head with all the shit that’s been swimming in it for the last few weeks.

I have so many things that I need to be doing. Stuff that needs attending to. Emails that need replying to. Not to mention the freaking BAS that’s been mocking me to death. Gah!

But you know what, in the grand scheme of things (I have always wanted to use that phrase. Life list #6084 ticked. Heh). Those are the small stuff. Stuff that tends to overwhelm us. Stuff that doesn’t really matter. Stuff that makes us look like we’re some super important person.

I shall now stop my Oprah impersonation before you guys stab me with a spork.

But I’d like to leave you with this random photo that I’ve taken during my solitary walk. Feel free to be inspired by it. Because it’s like my job now to inspire you all. You’re very much welcome.

PS. I may or may not have jumped for joy that the kids are returning to school next week. Booyeah!

Stuff One Can Do When One’s iPhone Has Totally Flatlined

I am addicted to my iPhone. There I said it.

And just like any addicts, when the source of one’s addiction is not readily available. One can go into a deep panic mode.

Okay. That last line may be a bit over the top. But you get what I’m saying. (Also, I am not in any way trivialising addiction, kk? I’d appreciate not receiving any hate-o-rade deliveries. Thankyouverymuch).

I did the school run this morning without my beloved iPhone with me. Shock. Horror. Gasp.

The battery has run out and I failed to charge it in time. Shock. Horror. Gasp.

And seeing that I am a Master Procrastinator. Instead of going back home and putting away the folded laundry. (Husband took the gazillion loads of laundry to the launderers yesterday. Thank you Husband, you’ve just scored a month’s worth of sexy time. Huzzah!) I decided to seize the day. (Are you eye rolling me? Thanks…friend).

And seize the day…I did.

First, me and my 3 year old daughter went to my fave local cafe. I had my latte and toasted ham and cheese. She had her fried chicken. Don’t even make me explain why she’s eating fried chicken at 9 in the morning. She’s the Boss of Me and saying NO to her can be a bit of a challenge. Sometimes. So, I just gave in. Because I am a Good Mother like that.

Breakfast at The Fave Local Cafe done. Next stop…Local Park.

The Little Girl went straight to the swing and I happily pushed her for about 70 bazillion minutes. I decided to have my turn at the Big Girl Swing too. And I happily rode it for about 1 WHOLE minute. Such a shame that I  had to share it with the other kids. Hmph.

I soaked up the Wintery Sunshine in the park bench for as long as I could. And I loved it.

Methinks, I should seize the day more often. Yeah?

Misc Ramblings Edition #300

I am a bit partial to the colour pink. Growing up, I was a bit of a tomboy. Didn’t have a lot of pink stuff. Heck, I didn’t even have a barbie. I know, I know the total injustice of it all. Heh.
So when I finally had my two girls. I went just a tad pink crazy.

Blurry is another term for artsy, no?

I went to this uber funky salon in Darlinghurst a few weeks ago. The lovely Kat of Deals for Mums sent me an invite where my chipped and ugly-ish nails were given the Royal Treatment! And ooh, cupcakes. About 2 dozens of them were involved. And you guys know me, any brand event which involve cupcakes equals I am SO there.
Thanks Kat for the invite! Me and my nails are eternally grateful to you.

My youngest daughter has Atopic Dermatitis, she’s had it since she was 3 months old. And the poor poppet is always itchy and scratchy. And itchy and scratchy meant months and months of sleepless nights for both her and me. Sighness. You should see my house. It’s like a DIY Pharmacy. I have steriods, creams, ointments and chinese herbs. I just want to ease her pain. She’s had her skin prick test. We went to see an immunologist. We’ve also seen a Pediatric Dermatologist. We’re going to see her again next month. I am so tired, people. And Sophie’s so tired too. I just want her skin condition to improve. Sighness again.
But enough of my “woe is me”. Thanks for the indulge.
The upside of this sleeplessness though is I get the chance to catch up on my google reading. I have to do something whilst I am up at 2 freaking 30 in the morning. Otherwise, I would go absolutely bananas.
So anyway, this guest post on ProBlogger.Oh why, yes I love reading the Great Problogger Himself. Why ever not? He’s one cool dude plus he knows his thing. Like REALLY knows his thing!
I loved that guest post so much. Jon Morrow is a true inspiration. He’s paralyzed from the neck down and yet it did not stop him from chasing after his dream. I bow down to your awesomeness Mr Morrow. I truly truly do.
This was the last paragraph of the post. And I am going to print it and paste it on my sorta kinda vision board.
